Weather
In August, Montreal typically experiences warm summer weather. Average daytime temperatures range from 20°C to 27°C (68°F to 81°F), with evenings being slightly cooler. While generally sunny, occasional rainfall and higher humidity are possible. Light clothing is recommended, along with a jacket or umbrella for cooler evenings and potential showers.
Currency
The local currency is the Canadian Dollar (CAD). Major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and shops. Currency exchange services are available at banks, exchange offices, and at the airport.
Transportation
Montreal is served by Montréal–Trudeau International Airport (YUL), located approximately 20 km from downtown. Shuttle services, taxis, and app-based rides are readily available. Within the city, participants can use the extensive STM metro and bus network, or travel by taxi and rideshare.

By Metro (Recommended – fastest & easiest)

From downtown (e.g. Peel, Guy-Concordia, or McGill metro station on the Green Line), take the Green Line (Direction Angrignon).

Transfer at Lionel-Groulx station to the Orange Line (Direction Côte-Vertu).

Get off at Vendôme station.

Follow the signs inside Vendôme to the McGill University Health Centre / RI-MUHC – it’s directly connected by tunnels (no need to go outside).

From Montreal Airport (YUL)
By Public Transport:

Take the 747 Express Bus (direction: Downtown) from the airport to Lionel-Groulx metro station.

At Lionel-Groulx, transfer to the green metro line (direction: Angrignon) and get off at Vendôme station.

From Vendôme, follow the signs for the underground tunnel to the RI-MUHC.

Cost: About $11 CAD (the 747 ticket includes unlimited metro/bus use for 24 hours). -
